While I found this to be quite an interesting car, it has unfortunately seen better days. The frame and body are solid overall, however there is a significant amount of rust on the bottom, trucks and wheels. There is also glaring damage on the car’s roof that appears to have been “repaired” with glue at some point. My vegetarian daughter instantly fell in love with this car’s “cuteness” (until I delicately explained the likely destination of a poultry stock car LOL).
This is a Lionel 6434 Poultry Dispatch Car manufactured in 1959. This one is the non-operating version (the 3434 car is the operating one) but the 6434 is still lighted. It features die-cast metal trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles.
